About

About Indy Edu Funding and our data

Who runs this site, how the four-county school file was assembled, and which state records sit behind every number.

Indiana now funds private school for every family, but the details live in separate places: award amounts in one IDOE file, participating schools in another, SGO partners in a third and ESA providers in a spreadsheet. Indy Edu Funding puts them side by side for the Indianapolis metro, school by school.

Every funding check is read by a tuition counselor, who then calls the family. Where a school or organization has a partnership with us, the listing says so, and it has no bearing on the programs we point families to.

Where the school data comes from

The base is the NCES Private School Survey for 2023-24 (2021-22 for schools that did not answer in 2023-24) in the four counties, with one duplicate record removed. We matched it by name, address and city to IDOE's 2026-27 Participating Choice Schools export (downloaded October 28, 2026), IDOE's SGO Participating Schools list dated October 21, 2026, IDOE's ESA Service Providers 2026-2027 sheet (August 31, 2026 listing) and Appendix B of the 2025-26 Choice Scholarship Annual Report, which gives each school's period-one Choice count. Schools on a state list but missing from the federal survey were added from the state record. The result is 175 schools: 120 on the Choice list, 105 SGO partners and 44 approved ESA school providers.

Voucher amounts are IDOE's 2026-27 estimated award amounts by school corporation. Program rules come from IDOE's Choice, ESA, SGO and CSA pages and FAQs and from FSSA's On My Way Pre-K and child care assistance pages, checked in October 2026. Indiana does not collect private tuition, so tuition shown anywhere on this site is labeled as illustrative or attributed to its source.

Indy Edu Funding is a Boss Leads project. It is not a school, an SGO, IDOE or any other public agency.
