Indiana runs a second Choice application window each winter. For 2026-27 it is open November 1 to January 15, and it funds half a year.

Can my child get a Choice Scholarship in the middle of the year?

Yes, through period two, which runs November 1 to January 15. A student approved in that window receives a half-year award, which is half the district amount.

How much is a period-two award in Indianapolis?

Half of the district figure: about $3,728 for an IPS-area student and $3,198 in Carmel Clay for 2026-27, still capped at the school's tuition and fees for the rest of the year.

What if my child already had a voucher at another school?

A student who withdraws from one Choice school can apply at a second Choice school in period two. Statewide, 122 students did exactly that in 2025-26, and 1,418 students were brand new to the program in that window.

What has to happen before January 15?

Enrollment at the new school and the school's submitted application. Call admissions early in November; small schools may not have seats in every grade.
