Does my family qualify for an Indiana voucher if we earn over $200,000?
Yes. The income cap came off in May 2025 and the change applies from the 2026-27 school year, so any student aged five to 21 with Indiana legal settlement qualifies. The school still has to be on the Choice list and have a seat.
What is the voucher amount for an Indianapolis Public Schools address?
IDOE estimates $7,456 for 2026-27, the highest in the four counties. A Carmel Clay address carries $6,395; every other metro district sits between those two, and the school receives the lesser of that figure and its tuition and fees.
Who applies for the Choice Scholarship, the parent or the school?
The school. After you enroll, the school submits the application in the state's system and you receive an award letter; your part is supplying residency proof and any documents the school requests.
Is it too late to get a voucher for this school year?
No, not until January 15, 2027. Period two opens November 1 and funds half a year for students approved by mid-January.
What won't the Choice Scholarship pay for?
Anything outside the school's reported tuition and fees: tutoring, therapies, transportation, uniforms bought elsewhere and pre-K. Students with an IEP or service plan can look to the ESA for those.
