What is Indiana's Career Scholarship Account?

The CSA gives a high school sophomore, junior or senior up to $5,000 a year for approved career training: apprenticeships, internships, work-based learning and credentials. IDOE administers it in 2026-27, its first year under the department.

Money arrives in four $1,250 deposits on September 18, November 3, January 5 and March 2 for 2026-27, through ClassWallet or directly to all-inclusive providers.

Can a private school student in Indianapolis use a CSA?

Possibly, but confirm it first: IDOE's 2026-27 CSA materials describe a statewide program for grades 10 to 12 without spelling out how nonpublic students take part, so email CSA@doe.in.gov before you plan around it. Approved programs must include a work-based learning experience and support the student's path to graduation.

The 2026-27 application ran March 1 to October 1, 2026, with priority for students funded the year before.
